The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration includes 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and take care of the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Åkeredsskolan, a cutting-edge newly built school!

This autumn, our wonderfully beautiful newly built school opens! Åkeredsskolan is a F-6 school in western Gothenburg. The school consists of a wonderful group of highly competent teachers, a student health team, and a school management consisting of two deputy headteachers and one headteacher.

We are now looking for an engaged and dedicated special teacher for our middle school grades 4-6. Together with another special teacher and a special educator, you will form the school's special team.

At Åkeredsskolan, we work according to three guiding principles: safety, collaboration, and knowledge. Based on these guiding principles, we have built our vision. We strive to create a learning environment where these principles form the basis for both teaching and interactions. Through our focus on these aspects, we want to provide all students with the best possible conditions to grow and develop.

As a special teacher with us, you will work closely with teachers, students, and guardians. You will be an important part of developing teaching together with teachers and supporting students in their development and learning. You will work with students individually and in groups, creating tailored teaching methods that meet each student's unique conditions.

We value the ability to build good relationships with both teachers and students and guardians. A desire to create the best possible conditions for students permeates the work. The assignment also includes conducting assessments and providing guidance by being a knowledgeable and attentive colleague in pedagogical matters, such as appropriate strategies, methods, and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher and special teacher, or alternatively, in training to become a special teacher.

It is expected that you are up to date with current school research. You have the ability to address both complex and everyday questions and tasks in a structured, responsible manner from a holistic perspective. You are attentive and listening with a good understanding of people's different conditions. To succeed well in the role, you need to have a very good ability to create positive relationships with both students, colleagues, and guardians.
